Yes. We created Hextech and changed Piltover's way of life in some areas. We wanted to bring Hextech to the people, to help others, but kept running into bureaucratic roadblocks.
And then I became... this. And I was able to bring our dream to the people as we always wanted.
This? Why do you describe yourself that way? Could you tell me more about how your dream was realized? What does it look like? The world you envisioned.
[ she is so curious. less about the gayness but more about viktor himself. ]
[ if he doesn't pull away, elysia will reach out to gently touch his hand, as if to test how the bizarre metal and purple flesh feels like, before holding it. ]
[ she does not ignore the hivemind unless he doesn't show her the hivemind. this is a cult, but it's a cult with good intentions, and it does look beautiful.
she can see how much viktor is trying to do good. ]
It's beautiful, Viktor. What you want to do is beautiful, but is it because you were trying too much that you came here?
He will show her instead. Well. She does not get to see the last part, but she can feel it. The sudden snap of someone's entire existence being ripped out of a collective.]
[ that was a bit violent. to think partners split like this.... she can see a divorce when she sees one... where viktor seems to want to reconcile after leaving(?). the details are fuzzy to her, but that was the implication she got from some of their words.
finally, she can see the hivemind in full. that does put a spin on perspective. it takes her a moment. ]
It looks like your thoughts on how Hextech should be used diverged. For something that combines both magic and science... I assume your government wanted to use it for a variety of things, right?
The city below Piltover, Zaun. Its people had started to uprise for its independence and against their oppression. Those in Piltover wanted to use Hextech to fight back.
But we did not make Hextech for it to be used as weapons.
Hextech was designed to help those in need, but when we created it, we had no intentions of prolonging life exactly. They were tools - powered gloves for miners, laser arms for artificers, things such as that.
Our side project, the Hexcore, is where we learned of the possibility of regeneration.
[He shakes his head uncertainly.]
I'm not sure. The hammer Jayce used to kill me was made from Hextech, but as far as I know, we hadn't made any weaponry for others. Now that I'm gone? I can't say.
I would still care. The end result is to maintain a world of peace, one without pain or suffering. Humanity gets in the way of reason. Failure is inescapable with it. No one can evolve beyond when emotions are there.

[Now irrevocably altered. His hand stretches out, offering the bizarre metal and purple flesh palm face-up to her.]
I can show you.

I'd love to see what your dream looks like.
[ his paradise(?). ]

And he shows her their dream by pulling her into it like a memory. The dream taken root, too. Some of the commune.

My former partner is who killed me. He called our dream a curse. But I do not know the extent of why.
no subject
[ she's thinking it over. ]
He didn't explain why he said that?

[Sometimes your partner kills you...]
No. He did not speak to me when he came to do it either.

What was your last conversation with him about?

[ there is clearly some context lacking. ]
Everything that can be used to help also has a possibility to harm. I think your ideal is nice, but I do wonder about the toll it's taken on you.
[ where his emotions are obviously less human. ]

[His lips thin into a frown.]
I don't think it has...?

Emotions are the blockade of progress toward a perfected state of being.

You would remove what made you care in the first place? Why you wanted to help?

I would still care. The end result is to maintain a world of peace, one without pain or suffering. Humanity gets in the way of reason. Failure is inescapable with it. No one can evolve beyond when emotions are there.

Did what Jayce do to you break your heart?
no subject
I don't know what you mean...
[He does not want to feel the (metaphorical) hole in his chest where the scar of the (physical) hole is, thank you.]
Logically, it was an irrational, emotional choice. And in following it, the commune was likely destroyed.
no subject
If you take way emotions, you take away what you are trying to save, Viktor. Didn't you want to make things better for the people who were oppressed?
Taking away emotions is another form of oppression.
